As the famous Patch n’ Parrot announced it introduces a new menu, “Mr. C” and I decided to try this new menu out.
The Patch n’ Parrot is located right next to the Hidden Reef Restaurant at Pointe aux Canonniers, and when we arrived there quiet late (blame the heavy traffic) on the night of the Grand Baie 24/7 celebrations, there were still many people eating and watching sports on the huge screens.

We were immediately greeted by a warm hello from the restaurant manager, Sean, who handed us the menus.
We ordered a cold beer and a fruit juice- the Phoenix draft beer was great, and the fruit juice, though it was not a fresh, was very refreshing.
While we were thinking what to order, we looked around and were impressed with what it has to offer.. At the Patch n’ Parrot there are 2 HUGE screens, on each a you can watch a different sports game, and also there are 2 sided big screen plasma TV’s- this way, anyone sitting anywhere will be able to watch his favorite game without someone blocking his sight.

There are many ceiling fans, which make the Patch n’ Parrot one of the most ventilated restaurants we have ever been to recently in Mauritius. The Patch n’ Parrot also offers a English style bar and a Pizza oven.

The music Buy Levitra was in perfect volume; you can enjoy it as background music and have a conversation Generic cilais whithout prescription with the diners at your table without needing to raise your voice at all.
Before I will start I will mention that all the dishes at the Patch n’ Parrot are very generous and are big enough to share for two diners and sometime even more.
We first ordered the starters: Chicken and Calamari Combo, which consists of chicken and calamari with chips, mayo and mustered on the side (295Rs) and the Greek Salad- lettuce, tomato, cucumber, feta and olives, served with tzatziki dressing on the side (290Rs).

The chicken and calamari combo dish was delicious – first, the dish is very big (as all dishes we had), second, the chicken was soft and moist, covered with tasty bread crumbs. The calamari was also delicious. The dish comes with two dips: mayo and mustard. So you can enjoy the chicken and calamari “virgin” or dipped in the mayo or in mustered. This dish is the perfect dish to have when looking for a snack dish to accompany a beer, or when you feel like having only a small tasty bite. This is an example of a great bar dish.“Mr. C” and I unanimously agreed that we could feast on this the whole night and be happy.

The salad was big and fresh served with a lot of feta (which in most restaurants is added in small portions). The salad comes with 4 pieces of toasted bread with pesto sauce. The dried tomatoes in the dish, though tasted great, in “Mr. C” and my opinion didn’t go well with the fresh vegetables. All in all, it is a very nice dish, but not a classic peak to eat at bar together with your beer.
For main course we decided to take the home-made burger (280Rs). We also tried the Popeye Pizza (320RS) and the Footlong Pecker Pie (370Rs), the house specials (which are found only at the Patch and Parrot).

The Original Patch Burger is a 200g of pure beef, which is homemade at Patch n’ Parrot. It is topped with bacon, cheese, crispy onions and served with chips. We decided to add a mushroom sauce to it.
The lettuce, red onion, and tomato placed on one side of the bun come in a perfect-sized portion. They fit perfectly on purchase generic cialis top of the meat and under the bun. The burger is served open, so you have the freedom to add some more ketchup, salt or any other.
The burger was served in the middle of very fresh buns and you could really feel that the burger was made fresh at the restaurant- all the fresh spices made it rich with flavors, and I hardly let “Mr. C” eat it, as I was craving meat that night
Also, “Mr. C” said that in a place like the Patch, which offers a variety of house specials like the home made pies, he would prefer the house specials.

The Footlong Pie is another HUGE dish, which is big enough for 2 people. The filling is made from chicken, creamed spinach, mozzarella and spicy mushroom sauce that you can choose to have on top (which is what we chose) or on the side, if you like to control the “heat” level. I love spicy food, and “Mr. C” doesn’t, and we both felt that the sauce was spiced just right and only enhanced the taste
The pie dough was crispy, and the filling was good. The pie comes with a variety of vegetables on the side, such as zucchini, potatoes and summer squash which were all lovely.

We ordered the Pop-Eye pizza following a recommendation of the manager. As all dishes the pizza is quite big. The toppings are spinach, feta and lardon (a lardon is a small strip of pork fat), on top of the “must have” mozzarella and tomato sauce. The pizza, is of classic Italian style, with thin dough and with many toppings (very generous on the toppings).
“Mr. C” enjoyed the pizza as it was packed with his favorite toppings.
The only feedback I have regarding the main courses, is that to my personal taste the chef was too easy on the salt…
The service at the restaurant: the waiters checked frequently to make sure we are enjoying our food and to see if we need a fill up of drinks, which was very nice. There was always a waiter on stand by, so you know whenever you need one, he will come in a sec.
As for the toilets, they need some improvement – I understood from the manager that soon there will be a full reconstruction of the toilets.
“Mr. C” and I both felt that the Patch N Parrot is the perfect pub in Mauritius to enjoy a sports game with friends, enjoy draft beers and eat delicious pub food; all in a very friendly atmosphere.
Patch n’ Parrots offers a large selection of dishes (especially for bar), all the dishes are very generous and can easily accommodate 2 people, and are for very affordable prices.
Also, it was great to be able to sample such a wide range of dishes for such a good price.
See you there
